Jewelry OEM Customization for Small and Growing Brands

Jewelry OEM customization usually starts with one practical question: how much do you actually need to change? A small brand may only need its logo, product card and packaging on an existing style. Another buyer may have a sketch that needs sampling and production planning. KingKa treats these as different projects, so the development work can match your budget, launch timing and target order quantity.

Jewelry OEM Customization FAQ for Small Brands

01

What can a small jewelry brand customize without developing a new product from zero?

Start with an existing KingKa style if the product itself already works for your assortment. Depending on the item, private-label changes may include a logo, product card, hangtag, barcode label or branded packaging.

For a first collection, this keeps tooling and development spend lower and lets you test the assortment before committing to a more complex original design. Jewelry OEM customization should fit the stage of the business rather than turn every branding job into a full development project.

02

Can KingKa develop an original design from my sketch or reference?

Yes. We can review a sketch, CAD file, reference image or written brief. For jewelry OEM customization, the most useful brief tells us the product type, preferred material, finish, approximate size, logo position, key construction details, target quantity and packaging needs.

Do not guess at details you have not decided. Mark them as open questions. If the collection is intended for EU or North American retail, tell us before sampling because labeling, material or test documentation, and packaging requirements can vary by market. See our Standards & Compliance guide for the checks buyers should confirm.

03

What is the MOQ for a custom design?

The $500 minimum order value applies to stock wholesale, not custom manufacturing. For a custom project, the minimum is confirmed after the design, material, structure and production process are reviewed. A logo change and a new molded or engineered design should not be quoted under one universal MOQ.

Send your target quantity with the design. If the planned volume does not suit the intended process, KingKa can flag that before sampling and suggest whether an existing style with private-label changes would be the more practical route.

04

How does sampling work before bulk production?

In jewelry OEM customization, the sample stage is where the visible design, material, finish, logo placement and key construction points are checked before bulk production. For a customer-owned design, sample and tooling development normally takes about 15–20 days after the required development details are confirmed. New tooling, special components or unusual processes may take longer.

Samples are chargeable. When this is agreed in the project quotation, the sample cost can be deducted from a subsequent bulk order. Bulk production is normally scheduled after the sample and commercial terms are approved.

05

How is my design information handled?

If you are sending an unreleased design, tell us before sending sensitive files. Project-specific confidentiality terms or an NDA can be discussed before development begins.

An NDA deals with confidentiality; it does not replace formal design rights. If protection matters to your launch, check the rules in the market where you plan to sell. The EUIPO explains EU design protection, and the USPTO provides guidance on U.S. design patents. If ownership or use of drawings, samples, tooling or product images matters to the project, put those terms in writing before development.

06

Do you provide product images for resale and launch content?

Registered wholesale partners can request available unwatermarked high-resolution product imagery for approved products. This can shorten the setup work for a product listing, catalog or first launch test.

For custom products, image deliverables depend on the project. If you need a specific angle, white-background set, detail shot or raw video, include it in the brief and confirm availability rather than assuming every asset is included.

Project note: Custom MOQ, sample timing and production timing are confirmed against the approved design and manufacturing process. The quotation and sample approval record are the controlling documents for each project.
